Have you always been interested in weather? Did you enjoy thunderstorms or rain as a child? Do you go storm chasing? Do you wonder whether there are other people with your same weather interest? If you answered "yes" to any of these you have come to the right place. Our local Los Angeles Chapter of the AMS is here for you to share your passion for weather with others.
Our chapter members are private and government meteorologists, oceanographers, storm chasers, broadcasters, weather observers, teachers, college professors and amateur weather enthusiasts. Membership is open to anyone! Regular dues are just $15 per year ($5 for students/$10 for retirees).
Chapter activities include monthly meetings with various speakers on weather topics, field trips, social gatherings, science fair support and participation in weather education.
Our monthly newsletter includes information on upcoming meetings, chapter news and a Los Angeles area weather summary.
